A Little Bit About Me:: I'm from Uppsala, Sweden, Scandinavia in Northern Europe.

Right now I'm doing my PhD in computational chemistry, which basically means that I'm hunting for new drugs using computer-aided simulations on mainframes in Sweden. I'm in the Aqvist group, and my speciality is quantum mechanics.

My favourite drink is Cuba Libre, preferably with Captain Morgan, but any old rum will do if it´s late enough in the evening and the music´s good.

Favorite Music:: My music taste is alternative and I mostly listen to internet radio, Radio Wazee and Groove Salad on Soma FM are my absolute favorites.

Favorite TV Shows:: I really enjoy JETSET, of course, and I'm also into Jericho, I really hope that they' ll have the decency to finish it, I need to know how it all ends. Who nuked Denver? And why?

Favorite Websites:: Blogs
Right now I'm primarily interested in life improvement and productivity, basically little tips and tricks on how I can I can grow and develop both as a person and professionally. My absolute favourite blog on this subject is ZenHabits, but I can also recommend Dumb Little Man, Lifehacker, Get Rich Slowly, Lifehack.org, The Happiness Project and 43 Folders.

The geeky side of me likes Cyberpunk Review and whichever new open source app that's being blogged on Linux.com.

Peeling office tape produces X-rays

From News@Nature: Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, have shown that simply peeling ordinary sticky tape in a vacuum can generate enough X-rays to take an image — of one of the scientists' own fingers. See the video here.

Compiling PyMOL for Fedora 9

This is a short walk-through on compiling PyMOL on Linux Fedora 9. First make sure you have administrator privileges on your Fedora system, i.e. that you are a sudoer. Corruption in OOXML-for-ISO-standard vote?

Norway's ISO standards committee accepted Microsofts Office Open XML document format (OOXML) under circumstances that look very much like corruption. Although 80% of the committee was against OOXML as an ISO standard, a yes-to-OOXML was pushed through. Irregularities in the ISO voting processes of Germany and Croatia have also been reported.
